Senator Dawn Marie Addiego, Assemblyman Scott Rudder and Assemblyman Chris Brown (all R-8) have introduced legislation that will breathe life into the economy and help more New Jersey families become homeowners.

“In today’s environment, FHA is the No. 1 loan program in the country. There are first-time buyers who are ready to purchase condos and townhouses, but FHA is the only entity that will let you put down 3 percent to buy a house,” said Senator Addiego. “Without timely cooperation from the associations, these mortgages can not be approved, and the sale falls through.”

Senator Dawn Marie Addiego:

“Governor Christie’s budget cuts taxes on every family in New Jersey, and continues to promote business expansion and job creation in our state. We are establishing a competitive advantage over our neighboring states, and New Jersey residents will reap the benefits.

“I applaud Governor Christie for putting forward a plan that will produce significant savings for taxpayers. The Governor’s plan to cut income taxes across the board will put more money back into workers’ paychecks, and his proposal to increase education aid to our schools will produce property tax savings for homeowners.”

Hard Decisions, Unpopular Choices Have Fueled New Jersey’s Comeback

Senator Dawn Marie Addiego, Assemblyman Scott Rudder and Assembly Chris Brown (all R-Burlington) issued the following statements after Governor Chris Christie’s State of the State address to a joint session of the New Jersey Legislature.

Senator Addiego:

“We have made significant progress over two years of Governor Christie’s leadership. We have worked alongside the Governor to rein in out-of-control spending and pass long-term reforms. Now we are moving in the right direction. Because we made the tough choices in 2010 and 2011, we are going to bring tangible relief to taxpayers with income tax cuts and the full restoration of the Earned Income Tax Credit for working families. While other states are still being forced to increase taxes, New Jersey residents will benefit with more money in their pockets, and more economic opportunity in the future.”
